UM will install the SWMF-Geospace code at GFZ, who will perform simulations of the magnetospheric response to the disturbances in the solar wind and will provide for WP6 the location of the magnetopause, global electric field and magnetic field. Regular monitoring and validation of the SWMF output will be conducted to ensure reasonableness of the values being passed to the energetic particle codes in the other work packages.
